Hello. I see everyones's life is like a Children's book. It is filled with many exciting adventures if you take a moment to read it through, but if you read the back of the book, sometimes it can ruin the book for you. It is more fun to read when you are flipping the page to a new, vibrant picture every time. I guess what I am trying to say here is to live life in the moment. Truly look around and enjoy the view. We are blessed with so many things and we hardly ever take the time to truly appreciate what we have.
Being sixteen, all of my friends are looking into colleges that are miles away from home. These colleges require GPA's that are pretty much straight A's. My friends are staying awake until about two o'clock in the morning just to finish homework. I have learned that social lives just don't exist for most kids my age anymore. They feel the pressure of getting into a good college so they go to drastic measures to fulfill that. It puts too much stress on the kids. I have also learned that a good majority of the kids that move far away from their loved ones, don't end up completely happy. I want to go to a community collage and enjoy my life a little bit more. I want to live in the moment. Oh and the price is a lot cheaper at a community college too.
I know that soon enough I will be an adult with responsibilities and I won't have time to do some of the things I can do now. Such as, enjoying family time, hanging out with friends, learning more about my church, writing a blog, serving others, and learning more about what makes me, me. That is my New Years Resolution, to be a kid. You may think its silly but, ask yourself, when was the last time you truly lived in the moment?
